Character Education

Topic Scope for Character Education
Character Education is the aspect of youth development that addresses behavioral characteristics. Research supports the concept that good character behaviors can be enhanced with training - they are teachable skills. Recent work has been done specifically on resiliency - the characteristic of being able to bounce back/go forward/not give up/deal with adversity. Service Learning programs, in which youth contribute to the community, are another mechanism to help in the development of behaviors related to character.
