Two years ago, I ordered a briefcase for my husband from www.maxwellscottbags.com, and I have to say we are both thoroughly impressed. I am writing a short review to share my experience and I strongly recommend any and all of the products from this site.

I bought the bag because it looked nice and my husband had requested a new briefcase for his birthday. He is a lawyer and is constantly bringing files with him to meetings and court hearings. He needs to look professional but with the constant use of his briefcase results in ugly wear and tear after less than six months. It has now been two years since my purchase so I asked my husband if he needs a new briefcase yet. He told me that he didn’t. This answer surprised me so I went and examined the bag. It looks almost as good as new. After two years of daily use I am astounded at how well this briefcase has held up.

When I purchased the briefcase I chose it simply because it looked nice and was not to expensive, but I recently went back to the website to find out what makes this one so much more durable than the rest. I found a description of Maxwell Scott leather.
The Maxwell Scott Leather website explains that the leather “is intended to stand the test of time and last substantially longer than other visually similar equivalents.” The description goes on to say that the leather “has been carefully chosen from one of the finest and most well renowned tanneries in the whole of Italy.” The funny thing is, if I had read this before purchasing their leather I might have thought it was a gimmick or an exaggeration but now that I have seen it with my own eyes, I know these are true statements.

The website explains that their leather is tanned using a vegetable tanning process which “takes much longer to produce than other processes, such as chemical or chrome tanning”. Vegetable tanning “is done through a number of complicated stages, carefully handed down over 200 years through generations of Italian artisans in Tuscany”.

I was so impressed by my experience as well as the thorough description of the leather and tanning process, that I actually ordered a purse for myself and wallets for both my husband and myself. These items arrived yesterday and they seem to be just as high quality as the briefcase.

I am usually not one to write reviews on products, I am a busy working mother of three. I just had to share my experience with Maxwell Scott Leather. I am most definitely going to be purchasing all of my leather products from this company as well as recommending it to my friends. In fact, my husband has referred the site to several of his colleagues after receiving compliments on his briefcase. Now it seems like the entire office is sporting their Maxwell Scott briefcases. Maybe I have started a trend.
